## Empowering Women Through Mental Health and Resilience
On October 16–17, 2025, Farafina Mousso La Résiliente Burkina Faso Afrique successfully organized a two-day Mental Health & Women’s Resilience Training Program for 100 women serving in the National Gendarmerie of Burkina Faso.
The initiative was implemented in collaboration with the National Gendarmerie of Burkina Faso and the Collective of Clinical Psychologists of the Ministry of Health (MHPSSP-MI). It reflected a shared commitment to strengthening women's mental well-being, emotional resilience, and professional capacity while promoting a healthier and more supportive working environment.
## Project Objectives
The training was designed to:
- Raise awareness about mental health and psychological well-being.
- Strengthen participants' resilience and stress management skills.
- Promote positive communication and emotional balance.
- Prevent gender-based violence through education and awareness.
- Equip women with practical tools to improve their personal and professional well-being.
## Training Activities
Throughout the two-day program, participants attended expert-led presentations, interactive discussions, practical workshops, and group exercises facilitated by experienced clinical psychologists and mental health professionals.
The training covered several key topics, including:
- Mental health awareness
- Stress management
- Emotional resilience
- Positive communication
- Workplace well-being
- Prevention of gender-based violence
The sessions encouraged active participation, knowledge sharing, and practical learning, enabling participants to apply the concepts in both their professional responsibilities and daily lives.
## Results and Impact
The program successfully trained 100 women of the National Gendarmerie of Burkina Faso, providing them with practical knowledge and skills to better manage stress, strengthen emotional resilience, and promote psychological well-being.
Beyond the training itself, the initiative reinforced collaboration between civil society organizations and public institutions while highlighting the importance of investing in women's mental health as a key component of sustainable leadership and community development.
## Recognition and Institutional Appreciation
The closing ceremony marked an important moment of institutional recognition.
All participants received official Certificates of Participation in recognition of their successful completion of the training program.
Farafina Mousso La Résiliente Burkina Faso Afrique received an official Certificate of Recognition from the General Staff of the National Gendarmerie of Burkina Faso in appreciation of its outstanding contribution to the mental health and well-being of women serving in the security forces.
The Founder of Farafina Mousso, Stéphanie A. HIEN, was also honored with an official Certificate of Recognition in acknowledgment of her leadership, commitment, and dedication to women's empowerment.
Certificates of appreciation were presented to the team of clinical psychologists for their professionalism and valuable contribution to the success of the training.
Following the program, the leadership of Farafina Mousso paid a courtesy visit to the Director of Human Resources of the National Gendarmerie. During this meeting, the organization presented an official Certificate of Appreciation to the General Staff of the National Gendarmerie in recognition of its partnership, trust, and continued collaboration.
